My Apologies

For those of you who have been waiting with baited breath for my next blog, I apologize to you. A combination of: travelling to Australia, my computer getting a horrible virus, and me just being lazy, has led to this long time without an update. I'm actually going back to Japan tomorrow, the 7th of September, and once there I will be preparing all sorts of excellent updates for everyone to read. I've been enjoying my time in Australia with my wonderful girlfriend Maya, and I hope everyone else is doing well.
I've been in Australia for 12 days now and I'll just give you a brief descripiton of what we've been up to. We went to Philip Island, home to a group of wild tiny penguins who come out of the surf every night, to march, in groups, up a long beach to their homes in the dunes. We have seen koalas, the unabashed Wesleyan stoners of the animal kingdom, sitting lazily in trees. We have fed docile kangaroos and been chased by hissing geese. We rode a train where they allow you to sit in the windows with your feet hanging over the side. We have seen wombats, platypus, tasmanian devils, who, by the way, are very very very devilish, and we have seen countless amounts of exotic birds. This leads me to my favorite picture that has probably ever been taken of me, captured deftly by Maya. Behold, my new greatest companion.Yes, that is a crimson rosella, that decided to alight on my shoulder. I was tempted to yell "Avast!" but that would have just scared it away more quickly. My favorite part of this picture is the look on this small bird's face. He seems, unimpressed, hungry and just a wee bit constapated.
All in all this has been an awesome trip and, like I said before, I'll have more detailed updates coming soon. Sorry about the wait and I'll leave you with another sweet animal photo to tide you over for the next installment.
